“This is a remarkable place to stay; very peaceful and quiet. Such a beautiful view.”
About Miller's Landing
“While it’s all great fun, the best part is sitting next to the lake, with a nice fire, watching the sun go down. You can’t beat it! The history at this place is too cool. As the pictures show, it goes back to the early part of the 20th century. Even in its present incarnation, The Retreat still maintains that early feel.”
When we came upon Miller's Landing more than a decade ago, although dilapidated by time and neglect, we knew it was a special place. Our vision led us to recreate a place where families and individuals could find as much fun, relaxation, and quiet as desired. Over the years, so many guests (now friends!) have told us that they were taught to fish in Sturgeon Lake by a grandfather, and now they're bringing their own grandchildren here because of the impact it made on them as children! We are so pleased to contribute to generations of feeling the specialness of this place!
Activity is low-key at The Retreat by design. The lodge can be used as a central meeting place for a family meal or a board game. Or if your competitive juices are flowing, the game room offers foosball, ping pong, a game of pool or a spirited card game. If nature interests you, take a walk through the near-by pine forest or enjoy the St. Joe River with a kayak or canoe trip. At The Retreat at Miller's Landing, you can have it all!
